QST Announcing the 3RD Annual Spring Rally during the Eta Aquarids
meteor shower. In the past there have been stations surprised by the
start of this event so we are going to try and avoid that situation by
announcing the Rally now! Help spread the word! Be prepared! (Starts May
1st 00:00UTC)
Look at QST Magazine, May 2004 issue page 99. Top of page, first column
is a brief announcement with the link for more information.
This year, the rules have been changed based on feedback from you!
Please review the rules at: http://www.qsl.net/wa5ufh/Rally/NAHSMS.htm
It is recommended that the FSK441 mode of choice is FSK441A for all
bands, the "good old original" version. Pass the word, FSK441A is
recommended for the Rally!
If you are planning to operate "Unassisted" it will be helpful to post
prior to the contest your exact plans and don't forget the "Unassisted"
operators are allowed to make prearranged schedules for distances over
1300 miles! (Check the rules)
These contests in the past have provided many hours of intense meteor
scatter operations. We hope you will be studying the rules, planning
your operating times and encouraging others to participate.
The results of the past events can be viewed on the webpage above. With
the increased number of new operators on today, there is no reason we
shouldn't experience about 200 unique calls during the Rally Period!
These events are designed to be challenging but they also offer hours of
fun. Please join in and support Meteor Scatter as a valid QSO mode in
North America.
Keep Activity On Scatter.
