...to get up in the morning.
Trying to troubleshoot the ALC, suddenly the transmitter entirely
stopped working. I SWEAR I didn't short anything out!
Anyway, RF driver board transistor Q4 - the second "big" transistor -
seems to be oscillating at around 20.5 MHz. Over 100V
peak to peak at the collector! Cruddy looking waveform.
The tube seems to be ignoring it. But it biases normally when I
adjust R31. So I don't think it's fried.
The CA3028A at the input is showing good gain ( with the ALC
disconnected ).
R27 and R25 - the collector feedback resistor and base biasing resistor
for Q4 - are getting hot. REALLY hot. "BURN YOU"
hot.
Gotta go do some "real life" work now...
