[SignalOne] CX7 - CW using A/T.O

Hi,

When I use the A/T.O. option on my CX7 to offset the CW TX signal the
transmitted CW carrier is not as pure as when transmitting on VFO A
or B. Furthermore the transmitted carrier appears to take up more BW
as it is modulated with tones appearing some kHz away from the
center frequency, not as loud by any means, but still there and
noticeable when I monitor on another receiver.

Also, the CW output is considerably higher when I switch TX from VFO
A or B to A/T.O.' Just tested, with 30 watts carrier output when
transmitting on VFO A I see 50w carrier then switching to A/T.O,
other settings unchanged.

I spend a lot of time with my CX7 on CW and I love it, but I would
rather be using A/T.O. to offset the CW carrier than resetting VFO B
all the time to match my receive frequency.

Have not found any info on this problem in the archives or notes. Any
suggestions why this is, especially the reason for overlayed
modulation on the transmitted CW carrier when offsetting via A/T.O?
The increased power issue is of less concern to me.
