Greetings from the "Freestate" , Silver Spring, MD.....
I'm a newbie here & don't know the protocols, however I am a qualified Signal One owner since about 1985 or thereabouts when I bought my Signal One at the York, PA hamfest.
My question is (sorta) simple.....though first I should note that I'm aware that there's a relatively comprehensive list of "still" living signal one's, but I haven't figured out how to access it, Mea Culpa.
What I'm hoping is that one of you here can tell me is - at what serial number did the Signal One CX7 change to the CX7A? My, admittedly vague understanding, is that it began when the "Florida" serial #'s changed to 001000, and then began going backwards to 00999, 00998, etc. before the move to California, but I'm quite possibly/probably wrong. My CX7A? is serial number 00919; it has the screen fuse mod, the RIT mod, and of course the LED readout..... as well as other mods that were done long before I could afford to buy mine almost 20 years(?) after the fact.
My CX7 was in the midst of a rebuild in the late 90s when marriage raised it's head & so the partial rebuild was carefully stored away....... I had already re-built the main VFO and had partially re-installed it.....
Anyway, I really need to know if it's serial number qualifies it as a CX7A or not? In any event it's seriously in need of a new home! :-)
Thanks all & best regards
Sincerely & 73

PS- a return e-mail to adelphirecords at erols.com will guarantee that I'll get your responses.... don't know exactly how the "digest" works here. Thanks. GR
