FYI All,

As of  June 2003 when I was doing the initial work on my CX-7B, I tracked down NOS meters at Larson-Metercraft in Santee, CA. Not only did Bob Larson recognize my old meter immediately when he received it, he knew the correctModutec part number and had them still on the shelf. I opted for a new meter as unknowledgeable folks had blown the original meter Mit fingergepoken the radio before I acquired it. Bob said my old meter was not repairable anyway. NOS was a little pricey but only required the easy swap of the meter face and is an absolutely correct replacement part. Be advised that both the original andThomas manuals have the OEM part no. incorrect ( an apparent typo a ) as 18-DMA-001 instead of 1S-DMA-001 which Bob recognized as soon as I read him the part number. The man knows his meters apparently. He may still have some of these for anyone who wants to do a replacement with absolutely correct vintage parts.

I have been making some progress with checking out my rig this winter but have not yet located the fatal failure at the heart of my problems. Will get there eventually though I am sure. I now have much more info and better equipment than when I first brought the radio back to life in 2004. Good luck to all.
