I am in need of a replacement meter for one of my CX7A radios. I have
repaired a couple of meters, but this one is beyond hope - coil is open.
Please let me know if you have a spare meter that you are willing to part
with.

 

Also on the subject of surgistors and protecting the radio, I use a 20 amp
6.3 volt Hammond transformer in "buck / boost" mode to lower my 120 volt ac
to 114 volt ac for the CX-11A and CX7B on my operating desk. The transformer
can be used well above its rated power in buck or boost configuration since
the secondary windings carry most of the current. By using this arrangement,
I don't have to worry about screwing something up with a variac set wrong.
