[SignalOne] Signal One's and Variacs

I thought I was the only one who uses Variacs with their S/1 rigs.  Two rigs, two Variacs.  Two reasons:  I don't want to repair any more 
AC switches, and I read that power up and torsions the 8072 filament.  Don't know if this is true, but don' want to dip into my 8072 stock either.
