I've been on the mailing list for a while, but never put mine on Fred's 
registry, http://www.k5og.com/CX7%20registry.htm .... I know way back 
when I might have described it on the list, but to generate some more 
traffic... Mine is CX7A, s/n 00196, (or is it chassis number? nameplate 
missing but a stamped number on the back). Obtained at a hamfest circa 
1993 in Minneapolis, with power supply board removed. Figured out how to 
put it back in, and later applied the 3-terminal power supply mod, 
tracked down some messed-up bandswitch wiring, found an audio FET that 
had replaced the MOSFET at the driver input (drive improved a LOT after 
that was discovered!), lots of dead diodes, applied a few of KN5S's 
mods, including the diodes to reduce jump when switching VFO modes, and 
the little combiner amplifier to limit screen current, and generally 
made it work. Last fired up about three years ago, and was putting out a 
reasonable CW and SSB signal at that time. Has the CX7A label applied 
over the original CX7 cabinet screening. Antennas down now so gotta get 
up some wire to put it (and other stuff) on the air...
