Merry Christmas everyone!
It's been a long time since I've posted a message to the entire group
but it's time for an update. Bill tells me there are quite a few new
members.
If you are new to the Signal One Group, I'm Fred Hoffmann, K5OG, and I
maintain the Registry of Existing Signal Ones on my web site.
I have worked on Signal Ones since 1970 and I own 9 of them. Yes, they
all work.
The link to the Registry is
http://www.k5og.com/Registry%20Main%20Page.htm
If your Signal One is not on the list please email me your info
including the sn of the radio. You can send pictures as well.
I have changed the site to add a column that shows if photos of a
particular radio are available and have placed the different model
numbers on separate pages.
There are currently 156 Signal Ones known to exist. The last one just
turned up in Sao Paulo. It is an early FL rig that is being restored.
We continue to gather information on Signal One history and if you have
anything you would like to contribute please email that info to me and I
will add it to the web site.
We also continue to search for parts to keep these radios working. I
had a special run of transformer cores made recently and even some ICs
for the CX11s. Thanks to K8RR for helping with the ICs.
The Signal One net is still meeting at 1630Z on 14270kc. There were
three people on last week. It's sometime difficult to get a clear
frequency since there seems to be some type of mostly meaningless
(editorial comment HI) contest on every weekend. Perhaps it would be
better to move the net to Sunday evening after 0000Z when the contests
have ended. Your input would be appreciated.
Keeps those Signal Ones on the air.
