Hello to the list..

I am restoring a real nice CX7A and have a question hopefully someone can shed some light on ! 

The unit will transmit on AM FB and receive but while receiving you have carrier in there. From what I read this is the way it is supposed to be, however I wonder if I am reading / understanding the manual okay ! I can, however, remove carrier by pulling a jumper on the AGC board which makes the AM sound more like what I am used to??..  I know this method is not correct but would appreciate any help that might be out there.
