In 1970 I purchased Signal One CX7 #125. It had mostly prototype boards in
it with some piggyback mod smaller boards that were hand wired! Over the
following five years it graduated to become a CX7B with many years of
interesting service [and I do mean service because it was serviced
frequently for awhile]. Today all the prototype boards have been replaced
and is about as current as any CX7B out there. I use the box with a
Alpha/ETO 91 amplifier and a simple wire antenna farm.

My callsign is K5SBU, handle RIK. My QTH today is just a half block from
Corpus Christi Bay and three blocks from Fred K5OG who sports a very fine
Signal One collection.

#125 at this time has the LED counter board with the X-Y readout option. I
have a plan to make a modification so as to be able to switch in the
additional divider chip and make that switchable from the front panel. My
idea is to replace the keyer speed control potentiometer [which is just to
the right of the frequency readouts] with the same value pot but with a
push - pull shaft SPDT or DPDT switch which would move the readout accuracy
connection between the two pins when pulled or pushed.

So, if anyone has such a pot in their junk box I would be very appreciative
to acquire it and make the mod. The pot is a 25k linear taper,
incidentally, of standard size that mounts in a 3/8" panel hole. Anyone
have such an animal? :-)
