Mark,
I got the surge resistors from Digikey. Got them shipped overnight (boy
was that ever expensive!) Anyway I put the thing in and the old CX7A came to
life. I've made quite a few contacts on 80 and 40 meter CW and it seems to
work pretty welll, with good CW note and stability. Anyway, I wanted to let
you know and to thank you again for the info. I shoould have put a posting
to the reflector months ago. I have had the radio since last September,
but hadn't gotten around to trying to fix it until this past week. 73s and
all the best to you and your family.
