This is a wonderful effort, thanks for sharing it.=20

What would be really nice is if someone would take all those newsletters
and tech bulletins and sort out what tips are appropriate, which are
wrong-headed, and which have been superseded. That would be a whole lot
of work and possibly of limited value due to the sample to sample
differences.=20

This form goes a good way toward achieving that. It's hard to tell the
utility of something like this unless one actually is doing the work but
it looks like a fine framework if I wanted, say, to go through the
newsletters and pick out what looks worth doing and what doesn't.=20

Don't know if anyone else has made such a list but if they did I wish
they'd post 'em here.

>From your description I guess I'm in luck...the CX7 I have is of the 880
s/n series FL production.

Incidentally, S/1 isn't the only outfit that made production boo-boo's.
I've caught quite a few over the years but just this morning found one
with the Drake RR-1 (marine version of the SPR-4) I'm restoring. After
replacing over a dozen parts in its blitzed front end and power supply,
I was puzzling at the plastic dial window, the one with a vertical
graticule line...there is a 2mm gap between the bottom horizontal edge
of the plastic and the metal front panel.

It was installed upside down! Been that way for 30 years.

Merry Christmas...
