Here's a tongue in cheek answer to your question - put it on EBay fo 50-100% 
more than modified radios trade for and see if any one bites.

I think there are too few interested in S/1s now for it to make much 
difference - the guys reliving their childhood (me) would probably be just as happy to 
have one that works - I know I am, but you can't rule out the few guys that 
value form over substance, and I don't know how else you would test the market.

Generally, I think if it looks right, even most of fussy guys are happy - it 
seems to be the ugly, irreversible mods that drag value down on everything 
else...
