this one is SN 0779720272 - can that number be deconstructed into

Florida operations.

Has anyone seen documentation for the 8072 to 4CX250 conversion?

What's the difference between a Thomas manual and the original - I've
got an
original, but curious how the two manuals flange up and how they compare
to
the SN.

omissions and drawing errors.

Anybody with a junk box have a "Spot" knob for sale? It's the only
non-original knob on my radio,

>	Usually someone has parts around. All you need do is ask.

The website mentioned in the archives is really impressive, but I can't
seem
to open several things listed (it says not available) is the CD project
still
a ways off?

>	There are several items to remember about the web site:

	1.	You need the lastest version of Acrobat to read many of
the documents
	2.	Some items (Thomas Manual for example) are just too big
to view online or even download with a fast connection. The reference is
there as a placeholder.
	3.	Some links (especially the TNs) are works in progress. I
have most of them done, but they still need some work before release

As for the CD, there probably will won't be any form of
"official" announcement of availablility. This is an on-going project,
and information is being added all the time. If anyone wants a CD of the
Signal/One site, I ship them for $10.

Could the dark brown, extremely epoxy-like glossy paint possibly be
original
(or for that matter available)? I'm sure its been repainted, and the
only
time I operated thought the paint was duller and more textured, but then
that
was a long, long time ago,,,,

>	I've got both. My CX11 has the glossy, while most of the CX7s
have a duller paint. There was a long discussion here a while back and I
captured it in TN20, which of course isn't on the web site.

What is the easy way to extricate the radio from the cabinet, I've
already
discovered the three hardest ways .......

>	Wanna compare your three hardest ways with mine? I don't know
how to get it out easily. Perhaps someone else can comment on it.

There is a bit of audio distortion that seems to be AGC related - its
not a
popping kind of attack thing, but more of a ripping kind of sound
anytime a
signal kicks up the AVC - if the RF gain is backed down it goes away -
and it
takes a few minutes after initially applying power for the problem to
show
up. It's not really objectionable, but if there are any likely suspect
AGC-related components that are known culprits, I'd love to know - or
should
I leave well enough alone now that its generally functional?

>	Have you checked the CX7 Mod list?

Has anyone tried to put one of these on 17 meters? Without sacrificing
20 or
15?

Apologizing in advance for my boyish excitement, but I'm havinga ball,
and
was excited to track down the list (K5MBX got me looking for it after
we
worked earlier today)............
