Betreff: [SignalOne] Who works on CX7s?

I have acquired a Signal/One. It is a really nice CX7 that has been
converted to a CX7B, I think. The Front Panel label says CX7 and the SN =
is
#256. But it has the Signal/One CX7B Power Supply board installed and =
it has
the Signal/One LED Readout installed. Both of these units have =
Signal/One
CX7B 1974 labels. It also has the Tube Screen Fuse installed on the =
back and
a meter light installed above the S meter. I didn't get much paper work =
with
this one. There is an Info Sheet in the manual outlining the mods on =
CX7s
to make it them CX7As and there is a similar sheet from Signal/One =
covering
the mods to convert CX7s and CX7As to CX7Bs, but I don't know if all =
of
this work has been done on this radio.
It seems to work. I plugged it in and turned it on. No smoke. I heard =
some
strong signals on 20 meters(good S-Meter readings), but there was what
sounded like an AC hum on the audio. It was a pretty loud hum, so I =
turned
the radio off. I think that it has set up for quite awhile. It probably
needs some caps replaced. This transceiver is one of the cleanest =
radios
that I have seen. I looks almost new, especially on the inside.
The boards are shinny and have not been abused at all.. There is not =
really
much dust collected on the chassis.
I think that it might really be a keeper. It even has the amber and =
green in
the readout like the CX11A.
Does anyone know of someone who will work on these radios? I could take =
it
too
them within Texas or surrounding States.
Thanks, Charlie Hugg. K5MBX
