I have just acquired a nice CX7B that has the LED modification. I
sometimes have
problems with one or more of the digits in the readout. The first digit
on the left
will sometimes(usually shortly after first turning the receiver on) lock
up a "9" and
stay there for awhile. It does not change even when the tuning dial is
moved across the
band. After awhile it comes back to where it should and stays there.
Also, the last
digit on the on the right never changes. It stays on "9" all of the
time. Finally, one
of the middle digits is sometime incomplete. It does work fine after
warm-up of about 10
minutes. Anyone have ideas on where I can start trouble shooting?
Also, I have a low frequency hum in the speaker that I have connected to
the
transceiver. I have tried several speakers with the same results. It
does not seem to
be affected at all by the volume control and you really don't notice it
when the volume
is turned up. It is only noticeable when the volume is turned down and
it is quiet in
the room. Is this something that I should be worried about. Is this
common. The CX7B has
the newer power supply installed.
Thanks,
Charlie Hugg, K5MBX
