I needed one at the input of the driver stage, where someone had
substituted some kind of audio FET (no wonder I had no drive!)... and I
just put in an NTE222 dual-gate MOSFET with both gates connected together.
Don't know if they're continuing to make these in the NTE replacement line,
but up to about 3 years ago I could always find one on the pegboard full of
common NTE replacement devices at Acme Electronics (aka AEI Electronic
Parts) in Minneapolis. Check the mail-order NTE distributors. They're not
cheap, about $5 each.
