Hi Paul,
since this repair work is part of your hobby and no business, you might be
willing to give me some advice. About two years ago I got a Milspec 1030
with some severe problems which I could all solve. The radio works very
satisfactorily now, particularly after the integration of a relay switched
highpass filter box to avoid the strong 2nd order intermod distortion caused
by the large BC signal density here in Europe.
Just by chance I wanted to try vox operation I normally don't use and found
the modulation level to be less than half of the average level needed to
feed the rig correctly. I could't even get sufficient output in vox mode. My
first investigation did not show any impact of the PTT/VOX switch control
onto the mic level. Do you eventually have an idea?
Merry Christmas, good start into 2002 and best 73
Uli, DK4SX

Betreff: [Signalone] Signal/One Service and Repairs
I get asked about this quite often, so thought i'd post to the signal/one
list.
I am currently active doing service and repair work on the Signal/One models
CX11, CX11A, MilSpec 1030, MilSpec 1030C, and the MilSpec 1030CI. I used to
work with Paul Kollar and Harry Snyder on these, and as they have both
become
silent keys, i am pleased to be able to continue their work. This is just a
diversion of the ham radio hobby on my part and *not* a business venture.
