Joe, the following is what I want to send to all. Any changes or additions?


One of the many ham activities this summer is Field Day. SIERA will be participating and will set up behind the Johnson Lane fire station 6, located at 1450 Stephanie Way. Operation begins at 11 am Saturday June 23 and goes until 11am Sunday. 

This will be a new expericence for many of us so we will learn together. Our goal is to have everyone who wants to try it to get on the air.  We will be set up to operate on all HF bands on a variety of modes. We will also have a 2 meter station for local contacts. If anyone has experience on 6 meters and thinks there might be a possiblilty of openings on that band, you are welcome to set up a station for that. 

We hope to finalize all commitments for equipment and participation at the June general meeting, June 2. 

Plans are to be setup before 11am Saturday, all are welcome to come early and help with the set up. We will have a barbeque Saturday evening with hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. Some of us will be staying all night Saturday and will have a continental breakfast Sunday morning. All are welcome to come and participate anytime during this event.
