Don Carlson KQ6FM,  the Nevada Section Emergency Coordinator will be testifying
in front of the Nevada Senate Transportation Committee regarding Senate
Bills 140 and 145.  He will be asking for an exemption for PTT radio
operation, including Amateur Radio.  See details below:

S.B. 140 Prohibits the use of a cellular telephone or other handheld
wireless communications device while operating a motor vehicle in
certain circumstances. (BDR 43-45)

S.B. 145 Prohibits a minor from using a cellular telephone or other
handheld wireless communications device while operating a motor
vehicle, except in certain emergency situations. (BDR 43-385)

Possible Introduction of Committee Bill Draft Requests.

Public comment.

Proposed amendments must be submitted in writing to the Committee along
with the sponsor’s name, contact information and the intent of the
amendment.

Cellular telephones, pagers and laptops must be turned off or on silent
mode while in committee room.
