High Wind Watch
Statement as of 3:44 PM PDT on April 23, 2011

...High wind watch in effect from Monday morning through Monday
evening...

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a high wind
watch...which is in effect from Monday morning through Monday
evening.

* Timing: winds will increase Monday morning...with strong winds
   possible through Monday evening.

* Winds: possible gusts 55 to 65 mph...with gusts up to 75 mph in
   wind prone areas. Ridge gusts in the Sierra over 100 mph.

* Impacts: unsecured outdoor objects such as lawn furniture should
   be secured or moved indoors before the winds increase on Monday.
   Travel may become hazardous due to the strong winds especially
   for drivers of high profile vehicles.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high wind watch means there is potential for strong damaging
winds to affect the area.  Continue to monitor the latest
