From David Book KD7YIM:
Reminder: Upcoming Technician HamCram and VE testing for all classes on
July 4, 2010 in the Black Rock. For more information, please go to
cq-blackrock.org/hamcram.php. Pre-Registration is required. The Cram is
part of a Black Rock Ranger training so it may be somewhat unusual, bunny
ears, scanty clothing, beer drinking or ???. We'll follow the VE session
with a brief New Hams Quick Start class.
This will be in conjunction with a Sierra Club trip to the Black Rock on the
same weekend. It's a primitive car-camping trip, high clearance vehicles
needed but 4WD not required. We'll probably be camping at Black Rock Hot
Springs, a noted landmark on the Emigrant Trail. That's near the junction
of Grid Squares DN01, DN11, DN00 and DN10 and in Humboldt County, quite near
Pershing County. The HamCram and VE testing is optional! This will be a
busy weekend on the Playa so expect more people than most weekends and
probably large fireworks!
If you are an ARRL VE, we'd like your help! We can use some additional VE's
for the 3:00 test session. Come for the testing, come for the Cram, or come
for the Camping!
For more info on the Sierra Club trip, call David, KD7YIM at 843-6443.
