High Wind Watch
Statement as of 4:58 AM PDT on March 15, 2009

...High wind watch now in effect from late tonight through Monday
evening...

The high wind watch is now in effect from late tonight through
Monday evening.

* Winds: southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph today
and tonight...increasing to 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 60 mph
possible on Monday. Higher gusts may occur in wind prone areas
such as Washoe Valley and in foothills west of Reno and Carson
   City.

* Impacts: strong winds will make travel difficult at times on
area highways...especially Highway 395. Local areas of blowing
dust may produce reduced visibility at times through Monday.

A high wind watch means there is the potential for strong
damaging winds to affect the area. Loose outdoor objects should be
secured or moved indoors before the winds increase.
