This last Sunday August 17th the following SIERA Radio Operators gave their
time and talents To the first REEL KIDS Fly Fishing Retreat to assure that
we had Emergency Communications from the Pleasant Valley Fishing Preserve.
The SIERA Members were Will Lewis KD7NIR and Phyllis Lewis KD7OKI who
operated a Radio Station from the Preserve. Monitoring the 147.33 frequency
were Don McRoberts W3DRM and Brad Smith WT6B.
 
The REEL KIDS program is for kids with Cancer. The High Sierra Fly Casters
invited five family's that have kids with Cancer plus all of their siblings,
a total of thirty five family members, to fish the preserve. Every kid who
tried fly fishing caught Trout.
