The Carson Valley Days Festival takes place this year from the 6th - 10th of
June. There will be a lot of activities - something for everybody. Crafts,
food, music, a parade, and much more. JD Fowler AD7CD, and Ed Goldberg
KE7EAA are managing the SIERA booth at Lampe Park again this year. The booth
is located at Lampe Park, in about the same location as last year. Look for
the SIERA banner. The talk-in-frequency is 146.550 simplex.
JD and Ed are looking for "Hams" to spend some time at the booth, promoting
Amateur Radio. They will be operating VHF/UHF simplex and using the local
repeaters as well. JD is planning on having a ECHOLINK setup available, to
show interested people a different technology that is available to reach
other amateurs. If you would like to demonstrate APRS, Packet or other
modes, please contact either JD or Ed. The will be handouts from ARRL as
well as SIERA. Other amateur radio clubs are invited as well.
This is your chance to share your enthusiasm and experiences of amateur
radio. By helping out at the SIERA booth, you will have the opportunity to
talk to people about our hobby. Bring your HT and join the fun. Contact
either JD at (775) 782-4755 or Ed at (775) 267-0499 for additional
information and scheduling
