...Heat advisory remains in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
7 PM PDT Friday...

...All time record highs likely today...

A heat advisory remains in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
7 PM PDT Friday.

Strong high pressure over the Great Basin will produce very hot
conditions in the Reno...Sparks...Carson City area through Friday.
High temperatures for today are forecast between 104 and 109
degrees...which may set new all time record highs!

Forecast highs for Friday are expected between 100 and 105 degrees.
Nighttime temperatures in the Reno and Sparks area will struggle
to reach 70 degrees creating little relief from the heat.

A heat advisory means that a period of very hot temperatures is
expected. Remember to drink plenty of water...wear loose light
colored clothing and stay out of direct sunshine. Limit physical
activity and remain in cool shaded areas or air conditioned rooms
during the afternoon and early evening. Keep close watch over
children...the elderly and pets for possible heat related
symptoms.
