Hi all!
The ARRL Pacific Division Directors meeting will be held this
Saturday. I will be representing SIERA and CVRC there. I am aware of
several proposals put forward by our neighbors in SNARS/WADG. There's
been a deafening silence from the Carson Valley crowd though. I know
you all well enough to understand that it's not apathy. At the same
time, I have a very difficult time believing that you all are in full
agreement with everything the ARRL has done and plans to do.
So, what would you like to see changed? What might the ARRL do
better? What is the ARRL doing that it should not be?
The purpose of the directors meeting is for our Division Director Bob
Vallieo W6RGG to get a very clear view of what the affiliated clubs
in the division and their members think is important before he heads
back to the ARRL board meeting in January '07.
Whatever it is you want to suggest, it should be in the form of a
motion to do (or not do) something. That's the way it will be
presented at the meeting and the way it will be discussed. If you
have general thoughts that don't fit into a motion, let me know what
you think (via e-mail?) so that I'll have a better basis than my own
point of view to vote on various proposals that will come up.
This e-mail is also going to clubs that I've not heard from elsewhere
in the state. Even if your club chooses to not participate, I'd still
appreciate hearing thoughts and opinions from around the state.
