Have you ever wondered what those weather stations that you see alongside the highways in Nevada are doing? Have you wondered how the information is being used? How can you access the information for your own use from the internet? These and many more questions will be answered at the SIERA (Sierra Intermountain Emergency Radio Association) general meeting.

On November 16th, 2006, at 7:00 PM Thor Dyson, Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), District II Director, will present an informative session on the Roadway Weather Information systems (RWIS) installations that you see in Nevada. Not only are they a great resource to folks planning a trip through our state (ever wonder if that pass will be icy? Or if the Washoe valley is experiencing high winds?), they also provide information helpful to highway maintenance crews.

Drop by our meeting and find out all about it. Bring your friends as well that would like to learn about the RWIS. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a snack. The meeting takes place at the Carson Valley Methodist Church building, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, NV. Everyone is welcome, see you there!
