Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training
What: 18 hours of training in Emergency Response
Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Medical on January 14, 2006
Fire Safety and Light Search and Rescue on February 1, 2006
Disaster Psychology, Terrorism and Incident Command Structure on
March 1, 2006
Who: This program is for residents or neighbors of Washoe County ages 18
and above.
This program is open to all skill levels and abilities. "In a
disaster there is a job for everyone."
Where: Training will be held at the Regional Public Safety Training Center
at 5190 Spectrum Blvd, Reno NV.
Go north on U.S. 395. After you cross over the intersection of I-80
and US 395 you will pass McCarren Blvd.
The next off ramp is Parr/Dandini. Take this off ramp, turn right
(north) at the round-a-bout onto Spectrum Blvd.
Follow this to the end which puts you at the Center. Latitude
39.34.575N, Longitude 119.48.590W
When: Class will begin promptly at 9:00 am. Plan on arriving by 8:45 to
allow time for parking and sign in.
There will be an hour lunch break at Noon and class will conclude at
4:00 pm.
How: To register for this class first respond to this e-mail or call the
CERT Coordinator at 328-2866.
You must provide your first and last name and a telephone number
where you can be reached.
If you have not already done so, you must complete our application.
Applications can be found on line at www.washoesheriff.com. Once
on the web site, select Patrol then CERT.
The link to the application is on the bottom of the CERT page.
Print the application and bring it with you to class.
You must call the CERT coordinator if you plan to attend the class
328-2866 (Class size is limited to 40).
What if: If you are not able to make the class in January, but would like to
start training in February, please call the CERT coordinator at
328-2866 to make arrangements.
If you are already a volunteer and are making up a class or taking a
refresher, you will still need to call and confirm your registration
with the CERT coordinator at 328-2866.
