[SIERA] ARECC EMCOMM Level I Classroom Training

WHAT:
ARECC EMCOMM Level 1 class.

WHEN:
Class starts on September 14th at 1800 hours.

WHERE:
We will be meeting in Carson City.at the Senior Center located at 909 Beverly
Drive, one block North of the Roop St / Long St intersection. Carson City is
central to several counties in our district. This is to be a multi- county
class.

WHO:
This class is quite important for all ARES members. This class will inform you
as to how ARES interfaces with the local community and what is expected of 
ARES.
This class is open to hams operators involved with Emergency Communications on
the volunteer basis

WHY:
This class gets ARES members on the same page. Not only is the material in the
book covered, also the needed local information. There are many topic covered
throughout the class. Upon completion of the class, you will be ready to 
serve,
knowing what and how.

ECONOMICS:
The cost for the class will be $45 in check form made out to ARRL.  (This 
covers
the cost for Connecticut University set-up.) If you are not an ARRL member, 
the
class will cost $79. The book used in the class is the ARRL "ARECC EMCOMM 
Level
1" book, obtained from ARRL. I strongly suggest that you acquire this book.
Other costs will for the student will be for class projects. One project will
cost about $5 to $10, The other project will be started during the class and
will be an on going project as long as you are involved with ARES.

Registration for this class needs to sent to me as soon as possible. The
registration information needs to sent to ARRL in order to get set-up with
Connecticut University Distant Learning curriculum  Thus, time is limited.
