[SIERA] Flood Watch for Western Nevada on Monday

Flood Watch
210 PM PDT sun Aug 14 2005

...Flash Flood Watch in effect from 12 noon to 8 PM Monday afternoon
and evening...

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for Mono County in eastern California...and
   Mineral...southern Lyon...Douglas...Carson City...Storey...and
   southern Washoe County in western Nevada.

* Until 800 PM PDT Monday evening.

* Thunderstorms are expected to develop early Monday afternoon over
  Mono County then increase over Mineral...Lyon and Douglas counties
during the remainder of the afternoon. Scattered showers and
thunderstorms are also expected by late afternoon around
   Reno and Carson City. Thunderstorms are expected to move slowly
  and will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall.

A Flash Flood Watch means that flooding of small streams...creeks and
other drainage areas is possible within the watch area. People in the
watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for
immediate action should heavy rains and flooding occur or a Flash
Flood Warning be issued.
