The National Weather Service in Reno has issued an urban and small
stream flood advisory effective until 830 PM PDT Saturday evening for
people in the following County
In western Nevada
central Douglas
At 620 PM PDT radar indicated heavy rainfall continued along the
WEST SLOPE OF THE PINE NUT MOUNTAINS or 10 to 15 miles east of
Gardnerville. Doppler radar indicates that rainfall in excess of 2
inches had already fallen. Additional rainfall through 730 PM may
produce additional amounts up to a half inch.
Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flooding of small creeks
and streams and country roads. Persons should pay particular
attention to Pine nut creek and Buckeye creek which drain into the
eastern parts of MINDEN and GARDNERVILLE. Even though rain may not
be Falling...Water running downstream can produce flooding in your
area.
Do not attempt to cross any stream or Road where water is flowing
over the surface. Stay away from small creeks and streams as water
may rise suddenly.
