Hello all,



Hernando County Emergency Management will conduct a Training and =
Exercise Field Day for our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) on =
Saturday February 22, 2014 at the Sand Hill Scout Reservation, 11210 =
Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613 from 0830 hours until 1730 hours.  =
Registration / sign in will start at 0745 hours.   We will have Search =
Technique training provided to us by the Hernando County Sheriff's =
Office, Forensic Science Section from 0830 hours until 1230 hours and an =
exercise after lunch.  The scenario will include a Search and Rescue =
effort by our CERT Team.    Amateur radio operators will have the =
opportunity to test the Communications equipment in our new Amateur =
radio trailer.  The CERT equipment trailer, Amateur radio trailer and =
support vehicles will be on display throughout this event.  Please reply =
to this e-mail if interested in participating with your full name, =
e-mail address, telephone number and group affiliation ( _(county / area =
?)____CERT, Amateur radio operator, HCEC and / or ARES).



If you would like to attend this training and exercise but not =
participate please let me know.  I will list you as an evaluator or =
observer for the exercise.=20



SNACKS AND A BOXED LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE PARTICIPANTS BY JOHN =
SELLERS, "CHEF IMAGES".  We will also have ice (if needed) and 
water =
available throughout the day.



This should be a great time to get your CERT gear out of the bag and =
make sure it is ready for activation.  Please plan on wearing at minimum =
your CERT vest, helmet or hat, gloves, eye protection for the exercise =
(REMEMBER:  dress for the weather).  Please bring a note pad and =
something to write with and your CERT backpack or CERT bag.  Radios, the =
entire CERT trailer and its contents that includes first aid supplies =
will be used for the triage and medical portion of the exercise. =20



A message from our Safety Officer,  Denis Riley:  If you plan on =
participating in this event it is strongly recommended that you wear =
long pants, heavy shoes or boots and work gloves because of the cactus =
and sand spurs that you may encounter while at the Sand Hill Scout =
Reservation.=20
