Hernando County em-comm classes to be held.
        
          On July 26th (Monday) 2010 starting at 7 PM, The Hernando
        County ARES organization will be holding it's first set of
        training classes at The Senior Enrichment Center of Oak Hill
        Hospital, 18900 Cortez Blvd. ( Hywy 50 ) Brooksville Fl. Class
        will end no later then 9 PM.
          The curriculum will consist of :
        1)  NTS traffic handling ( beginning and refresher )
        2)  Making a short term Go-Kit and what is needed for longer
        term deployment
        3)  New requirements for working at a shelter in Hernando County
        (applicable to other counties)
          The class is open to all amateur operators and anyone, in or
        out of the area, interested in emergency communications, how
        ever, seating for this first class is limited to 30 people. If
        needed, another session of the class will be held at a later
        date. Refreshments will be provided by Hernando County ARES. If
        you would like to attend, please preregister by contacting Alan
        McGrew, EC Hernando County ARES, by email kc4mts at bellsouth.net
        or by telephone (352) 683-7264. Registration cut off is July
        24th 2010.

        The maps will be available on the WCDNFS (District) and Hernando
        County ARES websites http://kc4mts.no-ip.org/index.html in the
        News sections. 
        The Hernando ARES net meets at 8:00PM every Monday night on the
        Simplex frequency of 146.580 and again at 9:00PM on the K4SH
        repeater on 442.050 +5 with no tone. All amateurs are invited to
        join us at those times. During an emergency, the main repeater
        for shelter communications is the HCARA club repeater 146.715
        with no tone. The Skywarn net meets on Tuesday nights at 7:15 PM
        just before the regular SHARC net on 146.805 Mhz with no tone.
        If there are no operable repeaters 146.58 simplex is used for
        communications.

        ARES is not required for local shelter operations. Applications
