SHARC Web page Update

Sparrow is now finished with the new web page design and content, and
would like  to tell you about  some of the features you should take
advantage of.

First, the main or front page.

The main page is designed to give you a quick overview of what's going
on. The next Big Event like Field Day, and next regular meeting.

Near the bottom of the front page is a weekly Fun Poll about a topic of
relevance. (Note that you can only vote once)

RSS Feed:

Our page has a live rss feed. This is a small snip of code that allows you
to
have the latest news about club activities available to you as part of your
yahoo, Google or similar web page. It's cool to have club news right along
side
the days other top stories; right on your usual home page. Contact Sparrow
if
you need help setting this up for yourself.

Menus:

There are three menus on each page. The Top menu, the Side menu and the
Bottom  menu. These menus are the same throughout the web site.

Club Forums:

Sparrow has added an interactive forum to the site. The forums require
registration
to post messages, but may be read by anyone without registration. (These
forums
are hosted on our own site using industry standard forum software.) There
are
already areas set up for club classified ads, as well as a general
discussion
area.

Debbie is hosting a forum related to the coming club fund raising auction.

Sparrow can add additional forums on any topic. If you have a topic you
would
like him to add, just let him  know!

Please consider joining the forums and joining in on the fun!

Use your Call sign as your user name, and choose any password you like.
Non-ham
YL's of club members are  welcome to join using any user name they choose.

Uploads:

Club members are encouraged to send in their photos of club events, for
publication in
the web page. You may either email them to Sparrow, or if you prefer, you
can
upload picture files directly to the web site from the Photos page using
the
(Cl!ck here to upload your photos the the webmaster) link!
