Field Day is 25 days away. The county has already reserved
the trailer for us. I know for the past 2 years that we have had
interfearence problems between PSK and CW.
PSK and CW are 2 points each per Qso. I know the spacing
between antenna's is a bit close but, I think if we stick with
2A say run 20 and 40 meters since 15 meter propagation is at
a bear minimum and 80 meters might be too noisy at night witht he static
crashes, and 20 and 40 being the money bands, I think we
can have a sucsessful field day. As an avid contester, when I am in
a contest, I seach and pounce to get multipliers and when I run
out of people to call, I try to find a quiet frequency and call CQ.
Maybe phone and CW ops can take turns running and S&P.
Its good to work all sections possible and at the same time have
people calling us. The WPX CW was last weekend. I worked about
200 stateside stations. Propagation is there. FD only happens once a year. I
think we can pull it off. Anyone want to operate?
I know I do. Some members of the club belong to ARES. Its good for our club
to hone in on our clubs emergency communications skills.
