[SHARCbits] Reel knowledge needed !

Is anyone on the list knowledgeable in the care and feeding of reel-to-reel 
tape recorders ? I purchased a Sony TC-352D on e-Bay that was advertised to 
be in perfect working condition. Sure....

When I first tried to use it, neither the feed or take-up reeks would turn. 
After a bit of gentle prodding, I discovered that the transport was sticky 
and would only engage with a little pressure. However, the take-up reel 
still will not turn, so the machine is useable except for producing giant 
piles of Mylar !!

All suggestions appreciated !
