-- Franz Josef Land (The team left the island)
From the RI1FJZ Web page and
RI1FJZ Telegram channel (edited
by OPDX):
The team left the island
Due to deteriorating weather
conditions and the yacht's ice formation (strong winds and freezing
rain), the captain insisted on leaving Franz Josef Land quickly. The crew
had been dismantling the antennas and equipment since yesterday
evening, and we left the island this morning. Good radio coverage yesterday
afternoon on 10m and overnight on 40/80m, with a large number of
calling stations, made it clear that this trip was worthwhile. Unfortunately,
we were only able to work a portion of the correspondents due to
power supply limitations, lack of internet access, time spent outside the
bunker, weather conditions, etc. More details later...

We
loaded up and moved away from the island. The tracker is
working.
The
internet is back online, and they're promising to upload
logs from the yacht. They'll
take a break for a bit, but they were loading at a fast pace.
The
forecast is "not very favorable." They plan to go to
Arkhangelsk. About nine days of
travel. Weather adjustments are possible.
The
yacht "Apostol Andrey" with its full crew left the bay and
began its journey home.
Weather
conditions are challenging - air 0 degrees, water +1, snow
has fallen, the rigging, sails,
and deck are covered in ice after overnight frosts, the wind is north/northwesterly at about 8-11 meters per second.
