Dear Amateur Radio Operators and Clubs,

The excitement is building for the FIFA World Cup 2026, and I’m excited to announce that amateur radio operators across North America will once again have the opportunity to participate in one of the largest coordinated Special Event Station activities ever organized.

The World Cup 2026 Special Event Station program will feature stations representing host cities throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, celebrating international goodwill and amateur radio during the tournament. Additional information about the overall program can be found at:

https://wc2026ses.org/

Miami’s official Special Event Station will operate under the callsign K4C, and I’m inviting operators throughout South Florida to participate.

I will be coordinating the K4C operation, with the goal of keeping K4C active across multiple bands and modes throughout the tournament period, giving operators around the world an opportunity to contact Miami’s World Cup host-city station.

I am currently looking for:

• HF operators for day-of event operations
• Digital mode operators
• CW operators
• Logging support volunteers
• A dedicated QSL card manager/handler for the event

Primary operating dates for K4C are planned for:

• Monday, June 15
• Sunday, June 21
• Wednesday, June 24
• Saturday, June 27
• Friday, July 3
• Saturday, July 11
• Saturday, July 18

Target operating hours will be approximately 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM Eastern Time on each event date.

Additionally, K4C operations are permitted any time between June 11, 2026 and July 19, 2026, allowing flexibility for additional activations, portable operations, club stations, and special operating opportunities.

If you are interested in participating, please sign up using the official operator registration form here:

I have also established a Groups.io discussion and coordination group for operators and volunteers:

This event is expected to generate significant international interest and pileups while showcasing the amateur radio community to a global audience during one of the world’s largest sporting events.

Whether you can operate for a few hours or help support the event behind the scenes, your participation would be greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to share this announcement with local clubs, repeaters, Groups.io lists, and fellow operators.

Jeff Dale, WB3ISP
