Sorry for the delay. I had planned on dropping by
and meeting with Doreen at the Medical Center to arrange for our
meeting dates for 2026.
Unfortunately, my health conditions, that started showing up in
August, have dramatically worsened. This has made it impossible
for me to get out and take care of club business.
I have had 2 venous angioplasty procedures, a CT scan and 2 follow
up procedures in the last month to try to alleviate the venous
ulcers on my right leg. Unfortunately, the pain has gotten much
worse and the ulcers are spreading and not healing. The vascular
surgeons have said that they have done all they can do and that I
have a long road ahead for these to heal. Just dressing the
ulcers and putting on compression socks in order to send a few
minutes, picking up some groceries, results in immense pain that
can last for days. The closest wound care facility that takes my
insurance, is in Delray Beach. That's not going to be a fun trip.
Consequently, I am unable to lead our beloved club, until I can
get the situation under control. In the mean time, I must resign
to take care of my health. I can do paperwork, but anything that
requires mobility is not possible.
This has made the January meeting, originally scheduled for the
7th, impossible. I will have to postpone the meeting. We can
have a Zoom only meeting later in the month, if things improve.
I will be searching for someone who can help lead the club in
2026. The second half of 2025 has been a disaster!
I pray for our members' understanding.
Very 73,
