Sorry, just a slight correction.
I have to know MY
limitations when working CW or a fast contest, lifting weights,
...
Our organizations, hams, politicians and others, need to know theirs.
And WE have to tell
them, clearly, where theirs are. Where we will stop being
supporters.
The ARRL is member funded. Businesses that are on the stock market are responsible to their share holders.
The ARRL is
responsible to us. To tell US what is going on, to fix it. We
pay them. How are they different from any other company we buy
from/invest in? Depend on?
I'm truthful when I
say that I worked in data communications (I was a design
engineer and then manager and then systems architect, attended
forums, architected new products (datacom, DSL, Fiber, ...) I've
seen managers fired within a week, vice presidents fired faster
than this for data breaches or viruses knocking out data centers
or labs. Take a test lab off line for a week? You will be in a
bread line in 2 weeks.
If no one is held responsible then there is no reason to excel, go the extra mile to do it right. It's easy to go to the dinners, soak up the liquor, schmooze with the customers and investors (been there, done it, a real ego trip), but you have to deliver.
I'll put it this
way, if I owned stock in the ARRL, well, I would not. Just like
I have dumped stock in previously good companies that "woke" up
(sorry for the politics but selling investments at a loss
indicates seriousness).

It's always the cover up that gets 'em.
Unless, as someone suggested, there is a Gvmt security issue, someone in management would be on the street already. I know upper level guys let go sooner than this.
Keeping a lid on it just makes it worse and causes unnecessary suspicion and FUD.
