Hi Guys,
Anyone interested in HF DXing and contesting?
As most of you know, this weekend in the CQ World Wide Phone
contest. This is the world series of amateur radio contests that
focuses on DX! This is the the best opportunity to introduce many
newer hams and prospective members to DXing and contests, that I
can think of.
Therefore... I will be opening the SFDXA club station, K4FK, to
folks that are interested in finding out more about contesting and
DXing. I will be at the club station, along with Rich WB4EHG, on
Saturday 2:00PM to 6:00PM.
Anyone interested is welcome to drop in and see what it's all
about. We will talk about propagation, contesting strategy, DXing
points, DXCC, antennas, and any subjects of interest.
The club station is located at:
Florida Medical Center
5000 W Oakland Park Blvd
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33313
Come into the main entrance. You will have to provide photo ID
and the security gal at the front desk will give you a sticker to
wear. Call me at 954-806-3699 and myself or someone in the shack
will come down to get you.
If you want to make some contacts with your call, bring your
logging laptop (or we can supply pen and paper) to log your
contacts. As always, using your call requires you to follow any
band restrictions based on your license.
I'm certain that it will be enlightening and fun.
As of this email, we have 5 or so interested. I look forward to
seeing you all there!
Please call me if you have any questions.
Very 73,
Randy N4QV
President SFDXA
