Howdy DXers,
I hope everyone is filling their logs with some all time new ones
and some band countries. Lots of good DX is on.

4W1A, T30UN, VU7W, and E51WEG have all been very active on many
bands.
Well.. My taxes are done (which took 3 long days!) and I've
finally gotten a bit of a break between doctor's appointments,
dentist appointments, filing for my new business, learning my new
business, preparing for court dates in Georgia, preparing for the
trip overall, helping my son with a replacement car, etc etc!
I finally have some time for SFDXA matters.
First on the list... a new venue for the May 3rd meeting. As
everyone who attended the March meeting knows...things did not go
well at that meeting at Wings Plus. The Karaoke was so loud that
folks at the meeting couldn't hear the meeting! Additionally, we
had many issues with the WiFi and I had to use my phone as a
hotspot to attach to Zoom.
I haven't received much hope for returning to the hospital any
time soon. Bill W2CQ and Ed WB5HNM are still pursuing the
possibility of returning there. One last call for recommendations
is being sent out to find a better venue. I will be researching a
few more central locations this weekend. Updates coming.
Second... we need a presenter. I will be contacting Bernie W3UR,
Bob Heil K9EID, and Tim K3LR, hoping that one of them has a spot
open on the 3rd. I'm open to ideas there as well.
K4FK updates...
I have been researching hotspots, since we currently have no
internet connectivity at the club station. It appears that we can
run a hotspot for around $50/month. That is an expense that we
can hopefully avoid, if we can convince the IT department to
provide us internet connectivity. Jeff WB3ISP and myself will be
working on that.
Jeff WB3ISP has loaned the club his Flex 6400 to aid in
connectivity and remoting K4FK. We will be testing to see if the
club computer has the power needed to run the Flex.
Ray N4RU and I were discussing how close K4FK was to Honor Roll. I
thought we were closer than we are since I misread the "stats"
screen on Logger32.
Currently we are at 327 worked and 326 confirmed. 3B7 needs
confirming, which will be no problem once cards start going out.
I reconciled the QSLs and I am sending an online DXCC app to Mark
K2AU for card checking and, once that is completed, I'll send up
the LoTW app. That should get us to those numbers with the ARRL.
That puts us 4 away!
I will be leaving for Georgia again shortly after the May meeting,
hopefully for the last time, for business and handling my dad's
estate. After this trip, I should be able to handle the final
procedures via FedEX.
That's it for now!
Very 73,
