“Some of you are aware that the
program known as TBDXC has shut down after a very short time
in operation. It
was formed to attract DX’ers who believed that the only
DX’ing in the world today was through the use of CW and
SSB. The program purportedly allowed DX contacts in those
modes only but after their investigations, they found
out that so many of their participants were in fact working
digital modes including FT8. Mark Wohlschlegel, WC3W,
the current Program Administrator of the DXMarathon Program
stated that “hams like all people like to have free
choices. FT8, RTTY and other digital modes are part of ham
radio which for years has prided itself in innovation.”
Mark is reaching out to any past
participant in the TBDXC program to come join the
DXMarathon Program. He
further states, “We give DX’ers choices. If you wish to
work SSB or CW, or Digital, or all theem you can compete
on that basis, no problem. We welcome with open arms any
past participants in the TBDXC program to join our
DXMarathon Program. If you remain focused on CW, or SSB,
you can enter using these modes only."
