Hi Rich,

I agree. VHF ops should put in their 2 cents!

My response was for ops to move to SSB and CW as soon as digital (FT8 and FT4) were moving the s meter.  QSO rates were much better years ago with CW and SSB.

Additionally, I have a complaint that the "Southern Florida" section is NOT Southern Florida!  I includes counties that are far north of Orlando on the east coast!  The northern tip of the section is 184 miles, as the crow files, north of me here in Fort Lauderdale.  When it takes 330 miles to get out of Florida, these guys are closer to Georgia than they are to me, and we are competing with them! They have totally different conditions. It's even worse for our friends in Miami and in the keys!

I would like for the ARRL to redraw the boundaries so that Southern Florida is truly Southern Florida.  Maybe a bit above Lake Okeechobee on both coasts and NOT north of Cape Canaveral on the east coast.

If enough of us get together on this maybe it can be corrected.

My 2 cents!

Very 73,
Randy N4QV

Guys,

Here's an ARRL survey gauging our interest and activity in VHF contests which of course includes 6m, which some of us operate.

Please fill out the survey, I slanted my answers to wanting increased digital modes to help us here in SoFL, surrounded by water, have a better shot at working the rest of the US.
