To all our ham friends: Many of you may have seen the news reports on Channels 7 and 10 regarding the destructive fire at Craig Sherman's (KC4QZD) apartment on Saturday, September 5th. Craig arrived home from work to find his apartment on fire. In an attempt to rescue his two dogs, he injured his arm breaking a window and also suffered smoke inhalation. He was taken to the emergency room at Broward Health while the fire department fought the fire and rescued his two dogs. Unfortunately, CPR and oxygen treatment failed on Gracie. Lucky is lucky to be alive. Craig is thankful to the fire department for their efforts. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but was presumed to be a lightning strike. Craig is a self-employed lighting technician who worked out of his home and is uninsured. Unfortunately, he lost all of his business equipment and tools along with his radio shack. Only his clothes and a few personal items were salvageable. Craig is a net control operator for the South East Florida Traffic Net (SEFTN). If you would care to help a fellow ham in need, please make checks or money orders payable to Craig A. Sherman and send donations to: Craig Sherman c/o Michael Sanner 4921 N.W. 85th Avenue, Lauderhill, FL 33351 All envelopes will be presented to Craig unopened.
