Howdy DXers,
I apologize again for being incommunicado for a while. I have several
issues that have taken over my time.
1) First and foremost, I have been diagnosed with Venous Insufficiency
Syndrome. I have 2 large ulcers on my right leg that are not healing.
This is the leg that I busted up into many pieces 45 years ago, on a
motorcycle. The wonderful orthopedic surgeons were able to put it back
together, requiring 18 surgeries, and it has been relatively trouble
free for 45 years, but it's now giving me trouble. I have had many
doctor visits with wound care specialists and vascular surgeons and they
recommend surgery within the next few weeks.
2) The attorneys that were paid $2,000, were supposed to file the Annual
Return to the court, and later, the Petition to Close the Estate. After
providing all Estate Account statements, spreadsheets, accounting
ledgers and emails to the heirs, to the attorneys, they totally messed
up the Return. The court is demanding to amend the return, to the
court's satisfaction or personally appear to the court in Georgia. Not fun!
3) As most know, I have been working hard on building a trading
business, since Social Security alone doesn't even come close to
providing enough income. This has taken a tremendous amount of time as
well.
With these issues ongoing, many things have had to give.
Unfortunately, these issues with SFDXA have suffered:
1) I had no time to plan our October SFDXA Picnic. Additionally with
Phil K4OMD and Els, his XYL, moving back to Belgium, we would have had t
make other plans for food and drinks. Maybe we can plan a winter picnic
instead of our October Fall picnic.
2) We need a BoD meeting before the November meeting, which is quickly
approaching. I will send out an email to our officers shortly to make
that happen. The main focus of the BoD meeting is how to increase
membership and having members attend the meetings in-person. I have
been provided many ideas, but ideas from the membership are welcome.
3) Setting up the club station for remote operation at the hospital is
proving to be very difficult. We need a static IP address and a direct
connection to the internet. Getting the new owners of the hospital to
aid in this, looks like a pipe dream. Jeff WB3ISP inquired if any
members lived close enough to the hospital to provide a microwave link.
So far, we have no solution.
4) I had hoped to have our website updated and our membership list
automated by this time.
5) We need to plan for our Holiday Party. With Mark K2AU being
incommunicado as well, I will need some help with that.
6) We need a speaker for our November meeting.
Hopefully we can get back on track shortly.
Very 73,
Randy N4QV
