The state wide SARNET (Statewide Amateur Radio Networking in Florida) on
70cm FM is a network of linked repeaters all over FL.
They activate for weather emergencies such as hurricane Idalia.
The SARNET home page is here <http://www.sarnetfl.com/> with frequencies
and locations.
You can listen to them on your 70cm FM radio or HT (depending on where
you are you may need a longer antenna.
We have two SARNET repeaters in our area:
Andytown is on 442.825MHz
Ft. Lauderdale is on 442.850MHz
Other areas: here's link to a state wide map
<http://www.sarnetfl.com/uploads/6/1/7/0/61701057/20230731_sarnet_map.pdf>
Please listen only, this network is not intended for rag chewing, use
the DCARC repeaters for that.
It will become more active as the storm approaches landfall. Don't give
up listening if it is quiet for a while.
They broadcast weather alerts as they get them.
