I would like to add a training tip I learned from PY2YP. Cesar went to 60 wpm is few months.
One big issue to increase speed is our short memory. We can decode very fast but what to do with the decodes if we can’t keep them long enough?
Here the simple method my friend Cesar used. Every morning he asked his wife to read a newspaper for him during breakfast, but one word at time, like t – o – d – a -y --- n – e – w – s,
Cesar put the words together and return the word, today news. If he say it wrong his wife repeated the letters again.
Short memory is a chemical reaction in our brain, when you practice it, the chemical substance to fix it increase. It works same way when you see a TV ad, you want to erase it fast as you watched, you increase the substance to erase memory. So watch less TV and enjoy more radio with a good CW QSO.
Nothing against video games, if you like it enjoy too.
